Como parte de las medidas para hacer frente a los aranceles al sector automotriz, Poileivre prometió que si los conservadores ganan las elecciones eliminarán el impuesto a la venta de vehículos hechos en Canadá.
Poilievre llamó a las provincias a hacer lo mismo, a remover el impuesto provincial sobre las ventas de vehículos, para que el ahorro a los compradores sea mayor y con sus compras apoyen a los trabajadores canadienses. Según Poilievre si se eliminan ambos impuestos, el federal y el provincial, se podría ahorrar hasta 7 mil dólares en la compra de un vehículo promedio.
