Fight among Republicans keeps the House of Representatives without a speaker

The support of former President Donald Trump was not enough for Republican Kevin McCarthy to gather the 218 votes that would allow him to preside over the House of Representatives in the U.S. Congress. This is due to conservatives who continue to withhold their support from the Republican leader.
