Goods valued at 9 million have been recovered after being stolen.

The police forces in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) announced the results of a joint investigation into cargo and commercial vehicle theft, which led to 15 arrests and the recovery of $9.4 million worth of stolen goods.


The Peel Regional Police led the investigation, named "Project Big Rig." Investigators reported that they discovered six locations throughout the GTA where they recovered 28 stolen cargo containers valued at just under $7 million.


An additional 28 stolen tractors and trailers valued at $2.25 million were also recovered.

A total of 73 charges were filed against 15 individuals. The charges range from possession of property obtained by crime, motor vehicle theft, break and enter, and robbery.
