The Ontario Provincial Police says a pilot died and a passenger was injured in a small two-seater aircraft accident.
The OPP says they responded to the accident shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday on Power Dam Road near Alexandria, about 100 kilometers southeast of Ottawa.
While the police press release did not provide an exact location of the accident, there is a small rural airport in the area.
The police state that the pilot died at the scene, and the passenger was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says it is deploying an investigation team following a Cessna 150 accident in Alexandria.
The provincial police are conducting the investigation in collaboration with the TSB team.
